More Info on This Book: Haunted Cincinnati and Southwest Ohio

The newest release from Arcadia Publishing is Haunted Cincinnati and Southwest Ohio by local authors Jeff Morris and Michael A. Morris. There is a dark history in southwest Ohio that some people would much rather forget. Many of these tragedies have begun to fade away, forgotten in dusty books hidden on library shelves.

The spirits of those involved in these tragedies, though, are not so easily forgotten. Many of the most popular historic sites and some of the lesser-known and forgotten corners of southwest Ohio are haunted by the spirits of those who lived and died there. Haunted Cincinnati and Southwest Ohio examines the ghostly history of more than 30 such locations.

Haunted Cincinnati and Southwest Ohio tells ghost stories and reports historic events from area theaters, cemeteries, museums, parks, roads, railroad tracks and even a castle through more than 200 images. Perhaps the ghosts are history’s way of remembering the past.

The authors hope the book will bring some of the lesser-known stories to light, and even educate Cincinnatians about ghosts that may roam in their own backyard! Also, by putting the history into print, they hope that they are able to help save some of the historic sites that are in danger of being torn down.

Highlights of Haunted Cincinnati and Southwest Ohio:
• The majority of the images were donated from local historical societies and companies.
• The locations within the book are arranged in geographical order, making it easy for anyone to visit the sites.
• Included in the book are several stories that are lost of forgotten historic events, such as the Salvation Army fire in 1800, Cincinnati riots and the tale of Fiddler’s Green.
