A dealer of fine and rare books, Edward D. Nudelman specializes in children's and illustrated antiquarian books. He lives in Seattle, Washington, where he combines his love of books with his work as head of cancer research at Biomembrane Cancer Research Institute. Nudelman attended the University of Washington, where he received a B.S. in biology in 1975 and a B.S. in chemistry in 1976. Nudelman has spent almost fifteen years researching the life and career of Jessie Willcox Smith, the popular and prolific illustrator of the early 1900s. Once the owner of the largest private collection of Jessie Willcox Smith material (including books, posters, calendars, and periodicals) in existence, Nudelman has, throughout the years, become an expert on Smith and her long and fascinating career as an illustrator. Nudelman is married and has three children. He is the author of two definitive works on Jessie Willcox Smith's life and career, Jessie Willcox Smith: American Illustrator and Jessie Willcox Smith: A Bibliography, as well as the contributor of the foreword to the beautiful, enhanced edition of The Jessie Willcox Smith Mother Goose. His latest project is editing two new board books containing Smith's artwork, Jessie Willcox Smith for Kids and Jessie Willcox Smith Mother Goose For Kids.
