Lt. Col. Tom C. McKenney is a retired infantry officer and parachutist in the United States Marine Corps, having served in Korea and Vietnam. An advocate for American prisoners of war, McKenney has appeared on CBS radio, the 700 Club, Fox News, the Today Show, and CBS Morning News to discuss veterans' issues and his experiences overseas. McKenney's own war stories are featured in the book Spite House: The Last Secret of the War in Vietnam, by former 60 Minutes producer Monika Jensen-Stevenson, and the rights to his life story have been purchased by Columbia Pictures. An experienced author, McKenney contributes articles to Guideposts, American Legion Magazine, Military magazine, and Leatherneck magazine. He has published several books on a variety of topics including Freemasonry, Christian living, and investigating the Clinton administration. His new book, Jack Hinson's One-Man War, marks the culmination of fifteen years of research into a piece of American history that has been lost for more than a century. Lieutenant Colonel McKenney earned a joint B.S./A.B. degree from the University of Kentucky and went on to earn a M.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has served as an instructor in biological sciences at Paducah Community College and the University of South Carolina. He lives in Long Beach, Mississippi, with his wife.
