A long-time learning specialist and a native New Orleanian, Marion Rea Brian brings together twin passions for children and her home city in her writing. Before moving away from New Orleans, Brian dedicated much of her free time to community services through her local church and library. She worked at numerous area schools at different grade levels to develop enhanced learning experience programs for both gifted students and students with learning disabilities. Brian received her bachelor of arts in secondary English and her master of education from the University of New Orleans. She is a member of the National Association for Gifted Educators and has given several educational presentations to students, parents, teachers, church groups, and college classes. Brian lives in Georgia with her husband, Robert. She has three grown sons and enjoys riding the streetcars of New Orleans with her family when they return for visits. Among her favorite hobbies are gardening, reading, walking her dog, and enjoying traditional Louisiana cuisine.
