Arcadia Office Supports Toys for Tots By Laurie Butcher - 12/10/2004
Arcadia Publishing’s Kaia Motter, Laurie Butcher, Erin Loftus, and Tiffany Howe present a collection of toys to Suzanne Lewis, Kevin Matthews, and Kid Cruise of WERZ 107.1 FM.
Arcadia Publishing’s northeast regional office recently joined forces to support WERZ 107.1 FM’s “Stuff a Bus” event. The Portsmouth-area radio station hosted an annual 60-hour radio-thon to stuff a school bus with new, unwrapped toys as part of the U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program. The toys will be distributed to local families.
According to WERZ, “The need this year is greater than ever, and there are children on the Seacoast that will not have a Christmas this year without help from the community.”
Nearly everyone in Arcadia’s Portsmouth office donated money and shopped for toys, collecting enough to give 15 local children a gift to open during the holidays. “It feels great to know that a small act like buying a toy can make a significant difference to a child and his family,” said Arcadia editor Erin Loftus. “Knowing that I helped put a smile on a child's face on Christmas morning is an amazing feeling.”
WERZ heralded Arcadia’s efforts and challenged other business to follow its lead. WERZ DJ Kevin Matthews commented on air, "Other companies should be like Arcadia and join forces to help kids have a happier Christmas this year."
