We interrupt this program to bring you the following important message:
On April 20 Sullivan County will have its own picture/postcard book available purchase. This work is authored by Connie Hatch and is a culmination of more than a year’s worth of tireless work.
It all began when Connie attended a conference hosted by the PA Historic & Museum Commission wherein vendors for fundraising efforts are also in attendance. The idea was sparked and with the unveiling of so much information within your museum in recent years it seemed an opportune time to put such an effort together.
The book highlights each township and borough within Sullivan County and touches upon a cross section of this county's history unlike any before. After weeding through and narrowing down what is within the museum's compilings, Connie then went out to you – the readers - for even more photos much more background on those she already had.
As always' seems the case with Sullivan Countians: you rose to the occasion and many people stepped forward to contribute to this book. The publisher, Arcadia Publishing, will have book signing dates set up Connie. But, prior to that, the Sullivan County Historical Society is proud to present Connie’s first book signing at the museum on Sunday, April 26 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Pauline Holcombe Wing of the memorial museum building. (That's located behind the Courthouse on Courthouse Square in Laporte.)
The Sullivan County book is being offered at the museum for $20 (includes tax) and the proceeds from the sale of these books goes towards the much needed preservation materials within YOUR museum. Light refreshments will be available and the main building will be open for you to enjoy also. Please feel free to come and support YOUR museum!
Should you be otherwise occupied, you may call the museum at 570-946-5020 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or just stop in if you see the open sign in the window.
