Local to Hagerstown and the Williamsport area, author
Mary H. Rubin has put together a fabulous collection/essay
on the small Washington County town of Williamsport. With
the aid of the Williamsport Town Museum and other local
sources, Mary brings the past to the present.
This scrapbook-like book has over 200 vintage images
covering topics such as when President George
Washington once considered Williamsport as our Nation's
capital to the people to modes of transportation to historical buildings. The delightful images show the same area over a period of time as well as giving a detailed write-up for each.
This coffee table/reference book should be available
throughout Maryland and in every library and classroom!
Mary H. Rubin has written several books for Arcadia
Publishing and hopes that her books not only bring back
fond memories for long-time residents, but also helps
spark an interest in local history throughout the rest of the community.
