Closely following the rise of the railroad industry, the Armory Square district of downtown Syracuse, New York, began to take its current shape in the mid-19th century. The once-bustling urban neighborhood slipped into a period of decline, but today it continues to grow with an expansive downtown renewal.
Robert J. Podfigurny actively serves on the Armory Square Association Board of Directors. George W. Curry helped initiate the rehabilitation of Armory Square, redeveloping the historic Labor-Temple Building into a mixed-use facility.
