William R. Chemerka is an award-winning educator, writer, lecturer, historical interpreter, and actor. A teacher for thirty years, he established the Alamo Society in 1986 and is the publisher and editor of the Alamo Journal. Chemerka co-founded the New Jersey Civil War Roundtable and has been an on-camera consultant for several History Channel productions about the American West. A member of the Western Writers of America, he publishes the Crockett Chronicle, an annual dedicated to the life and legend of Davy Crockett. Chemerka lives with his wife, Deborah, in Barnegat, New Jersey.
