Author
J. STEVEN SPIRES spent most of his time as a child climbing Southern oak trees with his brothers and building tree houses in them. These days he just enjoys sitting under the shade of one with family and friends, sipping a favorite beverage. Steven retired in May 2019 after teaching third grade for 31 years. He has five adult children, two of which are married, and one granddaughter. Steven resides with his wife, Eve, in Slidell, LA. He has always had a great passion for art in all its form--drawing, painting, martial arts, architecture and cooking. After illustrating the Three Little Shrimp children’s book, Jonathan spent a whole year studying in Germany. Once back, he started illustrating his second book project with J. Steven Spires, The Oak Tree. Jonathan has traveled to many different countries and speaks six languages fluently. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in architectural studies at Harvard University and hopes to own a company one day.
