I applaud the author tackling this topic; it is long overdue. However, I found the organization of the book confusing. She starts on themes and then abandons them with no conclusion. She begins with the description of the most recent dams and lakes, rather than beginning with the earliest. Her knowledge of Civil War history, when the topic is included, is inaccurate. She really needs a refresher on Civil War history in Georgia, which is odd since she is at Kennesaw State. There's good information here, but the book's organization is lacking.
