Tacos are 100% Mexican, just as tortilla's origin goes back to the ancient Aztec people. And Tejanos started eating tacos when Texas was part of Mexico. So don't dare to say that tacos are American or US born. Just like saying that Chinese or Italian food is a US food only because it is sold here.
