Only the first chapter has pictures devoted to the before closure of the railroad. All other chapters are of pictures after the railroad was saved. I am more interested in the early pictorial history of the railroad. I hope things have changed since the publishing of the book, but the captions for a number of the locomotives say the locomotive is parked in the roundhouse as inoperable. Being the EBT is the only "complete" saved narrow gauge railroad in the U.S., I hope to someday visit it. There is also a chapter about the trolley museum located next to the railroad. A good guide for what is available today to see.
