Awesome book. Writing history is hard.

We know St. Louis won the 1926 World Series beating the Yankees 4 games - 3. By the time I finished the book I realized Terry had morphed into Paul Harvey and I now know “the rest of the story”. The stories about how each town treated the opposing team, how radio was coming into its own, and the individual stories about the players made this book a joy to read.

I met Terry at at a Tax Conference where he spoke about his time at the IRS and pitched (pun intended) his book. I tracked him down and we had a great chat about baseball, taxes, and life. Once I finished the book I placed an order for four more books which I have shipped off to some tax pro friends who are also baseball fans and I am sure they will thoroughly enjoy the read.

Very interesting that this book was published 100 years after the Cardinals won the World Series for the first time. I gave this to my newspaper editor.
