Love the book. A very dear friend of my Caroline Sears of Perth Amboy NJ was born in Wales and married her husband Arthur who was in the Army and stationed in Wales and who also participated in the D-Day Invasion of Normandy. When he returned to Wales a few months later they were married and Caroline was one of those "War Brides" you mention in the book and she sailed on board the Queen Mary and arrived here in America on April 14, 1946. She and Arthur had a wonderful life. He died about 25 years ago and she died last year -2025 - and had just turned 100 years old. She was an amazing person and a very close, dear, friend of mine.
